There used to be a joke about rugby and balls which we will not tell anymore. In truth it wasn’t very funny unless you were a twelve year old boy.
And then there’s the off used quote “football is a gentleman’s game played by hooligans, and Rugby is a hooligans’ game played by gentlemen”? No creditable source has really been found for the origin of this. But the bold Oscar Wilde always has something to say. “Rugby is a good occasion for keeping thirty bullies far from the centre of the city.”
Either way, we’re showing the Six Nations on the wall starting this Saturday – there’s a good selection of games available, with the Calcutta Cup being first up, England Vs Scotland. The house is cheering for our wee Scottish brothers.
All Saturday games start at 10.45am, doors open at 10.30am, beer sales from 11.00am.
