As suspected, breweries are not covered by the restaurant patios reopening next week. After some initial confusion, the provincial government answered our question:
Q: ‘Will breweries that have been able to stay open as an essential service, also be able to open their patios at 50% capacity (following all the regulations) just as restaurants will be able to starting Monday May 4?’
A: “No, bars and breweries are not included on Schedule B and therefore must remain closed to the public. However, they can continue to opperate on a pick-up and delivery basis. They also may be included in future phase for restoring services. New phases will be implemented on a three-to-four week basis, ensuring adequate time between phases is provided to monitor cases and ensure easing and further restrictions are able to respond to the evidence of viral transmission. https://manitoba.ca/covid19/restoring/approach.html“
