We recommend that growlers should be opened within 24-72 hours of filling and should be consumed promptly within hours of opening.
Where growlers have been prefilled (we never prefill), ensure your growler has been filled that day for optimal freshesnness. Studies show that beer starts to slowly degrade immediately after fillung. Within 24hours some flavours may no long be optimal.
Keep filled growlers cold and dark.
After consuming, your growler should be thoroughly rinsed and cleaned out immediately. Allow to air dry without a lid. If storing empty for a length of time, a twist of paper towel in the neck will allow it to breathe without it getting dusty inside.
If your growler is chipped or unsanitary, most growler bars will and should refuse to fill it.
