Winnipeg Goldeyes and Local Brewers Partner for Local Only Beer Festival.
The Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club is partnering with Manitoba’s breweries for Ballpark Brewfest, to be held at Shaw Park on July 23, 2022. Rain or shine, this will be an exciting afternoon for Manitobans to come together to celebrate their local craft beer scene.
Ballpark Brewfest will appeal to any Manitoban, regardless of their craft beer knowledge. For those new to craft beer, general admission tickets (priced at $50) will give guests the opportunity to sample all Manitoba breweries in one, convenient location. For the craft beer aficionado, a limited amount of VIP tickets (priced at $80) will be available with, among other things, exclusive access to unique beers from each brewery, early admission and a souvenir glass. In addition to the beers, Goldeyes’ food vendors will be available for those looking for a bite to eat from these great local kitchens.
Unlike other beer festivals in Manitoba, this will not be a strictly sampling event. All admissions come with 2oz samples from all participating breweries, but tokens will also be sold for those looking get a half pint of their favourite beers.
According to Andrew Collier, General Manager of the Goldeyes, “With our Craft Beer Corner, we have had the unique opportunity to be the first Winnipeg professional sports team to partner with local brewers. The Goldeyes expanded this in 2022 by not only having craft beer on draft at Craft Beer Corner, but also, we are proud to say that all canned beer in the ballpark is also 100% Manitoba made. Ballpark Brewfest takes that partnership one step further as we invite the breweries themselves into Shaw Park to interact with Manitobans and discuss the only thing that can rival baseball – BEER!”
The event will run from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm with VIP ticket holders given early admission at 1:00 pm. Tickets are limited so guests are encouraged to buy early to avoid missing out. Tickets are available starting June 2, 2022 @ ticketmaster.ca.
As you may be aware, Stone Angel will not be attending Flatlanders this year, and we are very excited about this event, which for us is the perfect marriage of a Winnipeg summer and outdoors – and support from the Winnipeg professional sports organisation that gets the importance of local beer.
